Pope Francis declared 2025 to be the Jubilee Year of Hope. We live in a world that is lacking hope. How do we learn to hear the Lord in the hardest of times? How do we turn to Him in hope? Join fellow young adults for a weekend away to discover the answer to these questions and more as we become a people of hope in Christ!

When?
Arrival:
Friday, March 28, 7pm

What is included with registration?
Comfortable lodging, tasty meals, snacks, great community time, and a restful weekend away with friends, new and old!
Bedrooms: 2 nights, double occupancy with own bathroom.
Meals: Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch are included. Friday dinner is not provided, so eat before you arrive.

Must be a young adult, age 18-30s, single or married. Babies held in arms are welcome.
What to expect?
Prayer, talks, small groups, music, Mass, Adoration, Confession, and the opportunity to meet local young adults!
Cost of the Retreat
While the fees may seem expensive, the actual cost of the retreat is over $250 per person, but is being generously subsidized by Ablaze Mission and our sponsors.

Speakers & Priests
You will hear from a variety of qualified speakers as we explore the theme of Hope. Starting with a presentation on hope, covering hope amidst suffering, all the way to living with hope, you will leave the retreat with a better understanding of what it means to be a people of hope in a chaotic world.
Speaker:
Bob Kloska
Bob is the Chief Partnership Officer at Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, as well as a husband and father to five children. He has a Bachelor's in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's of Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He has taught philosophy at Holy Cross College, founded its campus ministry program, and then served as Vice President for Mission Advancement before transitioning to NDFCU. For many years he has been a beacon of light and a model of redemptive suffering amidst health battles as a 3-time cancer survivor.

Monica Markovich
Monica holds a Bachelor's in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's of Public Affairs from Indiana University. She currently serves at Holy Cross College as Executive Vice President and Vice President for Finance and CFO. She is an active member of St. Therese Little Flower Parish where she serves on the parish council and chairs the finance committee. Monica has been married for 15 years and has five children.

Sister Maria Gemma Salyer, OSF
Sr. Maria Gemma joined the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in 2006. She has earned a Bachelor’s in Theology, Master's of Philosophy, and Doctorate in Educational Administration. Sister has served as a high school theology teacher and assisted in the vocations office. She is currently the Vice President for Catholic Culture and Student Life at the University of Saint Francis, supporting student growth and spreading of the Gospel.

Father Gabriel Griggs, CSC
Father Gabe grew up in South Bend and is the oldest of three children. After receiving his Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and Applied Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, he completed one year of graduate work in statistics at Purdue University before feeling a call to the priesthood. Until then, he thought that his path was to get married and have a big family, but has discovered that he could give something more as a priest. Father Gabe received his Master’s of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame and then was ordained in 2022. After serving as a dorm rector on Notre Dame campus, he is currently preparing for PhD studies.

Father José Emmanuel Arroyo Acevedo
Fr. Jose grew up in Puerto Rico as the second of four boys. He has discerned with multiple Franciscan orders, including the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in New York City, where he at age 19 he served as a personal caregiver to the cofounder, Fr. Benedict Groeschel, CFR. Ultimately, Fr. Jose was ordained to the priesthood in 2019 for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, and soon after became known as the “TikTok priest” when posting videos during the Covid lockdown in 2020. He currently serves as Associate Pastor at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Plymouth, Indiana.
Confession:
Father Bobby Krisch
Fr. Bobby graduated from Marian High School in 2009 and earned a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Manchester University. He then worked in accounting for four years, but struggled in his faith and realized something was missing. After traveling on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in 2015, Fr. Bobby began discerning the priesthood. That eventually led to entering seminary and being ordained a priest in 2023. Fr. Bobby currently serves as Associate Pastor at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Fort Wayne.
